2. MADHURAPARI FAMILY RESTAURANT & TODDY SHOP (ALAPPUZHA – CHANGANASSERY RD, KUTTANAD)
Tapioca with chili fish curry, prawns, fish & clam fry in coconut oil is a delicious treat you must try while visiting Kuttanad. Natholli fry, Karimeen Poliichath(large fish grilled with stuffed masala wrapped in banana leaf), Beef coconut fry, with salad can be tried out with sweet fresh toddy.

7. KAILASAM TODDY SHOP (KUTTANAD TALUK)
Kappa-fish curry is a mouth-watering combo for all Keralites. The intense color and the taste of spices in the thick red gravy is a pride for Malayalis. Usually, large fleshy fishes are taken for the curry. There is no perfect combo, and any dish goes well with it. Other delicacies here are tiger shrimp roast, crab roast, Kuttanadan duck curry, crispy fish fries sauté in the flavor of coconut oil.

Mussel, fish, liver, and prawn roast are absolutely delicious and can be experienced with any breakfast, lunch, or tapioca dishes. The locals mention appam with beef, and liver roast is speechless and hence a must-try combo.
12. THAFF HOTEL AND RESTAURANT (GENERAL HOSPITAL JUNCTION, ALAPPUZHA)
Dum biryani, mutton chaps, Fish molly, fried rice, Patthri(rice bread), mutton curry are some dishes that stand out on their menu. Other general recipes include butter chicken, parotta, fishy fry, different flavors of fish gravy for rice thali. Thali can be customized as veg or non-veg as your preference.
13. AHALAN MANDI (ALAPPUZHA – VELIYANAD ROAD, KALARCODE, PAZHAVEEDU, ALAPPUZHA)
With different specials in Mandi, their beef mandi is admired by many, served with a tomato chili chutney and mint chutney. The beef meat in slow-cooked pit becomes incredibly soft, and even the rice has its authentic flavor. They use quality rice to prepare this is it. It takes a lot of time and patience to prepare it, but absolutely worth the wait. Chicken barbeque, mutton, kingfish, and prawns dishes also recommended
14. OOTTUPURA FAMILY RESTAURANT (MONCOMPU, KERALA)
Pearl spot fish fry, a recipe in which the fish is marinated overnight with fresh grind paste of pepper, garlic, ginger, regular chili, turmeric, and salt fried toasted until cooked soft inside and crispy outer layer, topped with a few curry leaves, and onion rings. 16. HOTEL PALLAVI (ALAPPUZHA – CHANGANASSERY RD, KUTTANAD TALUK)
A restaurant with a truly homely feel, a good quantity of rice, and more than 2 gravy of your choice (fish gravy red, or coconut fish gravy, or sambar, Pullisery, Resam) curries along with fish fry, fish masala, Thoran, and pickle. Curries and rice can be retaken if you are still hungry.
17. ARABIAN NIGHTS RESTAURANT (NEAR KTDC TAMARIND, AC ROAD, MANACKACHIRA, PUZHAVATHU)
A fish Mandi is not an everyday dish you can find. The town is known for fish varieties, and
hence this, the recipe is not astonishing. Do try if you are hungry driving through AC road. The dish has a better flavor than fish biriyani, as per the locals.
18. APPUCHETTANTE KADA HOTEL (PUZHAVATH SNDP, CHANGANASSERY)
Do not expect large dining here, but for sure, tasty and homely village food at a reasonable price, this is it. With the consistent quality of food, it’s of high fame and a crowd of customers. Meals include fish curry, a fish fry, cabbage Thoran, beetroot, and other vegetables for only 60 rupees.
19. BREEZE RESTAURANT (KUTTANAD TALUK, KERALA)
Close to the side backwaters, especially beautiful during the night with the lights. This restaurant is known for all fast food varieties has the least waiting time and good space for decent and neat dining. Biryani and parotta are the most ordered dishes from here.
20. AMMACHIKKADA HOTEL (KUTTANAD TALUK, ALAPPUZHA)
This place serves a nutritious and delicious favorite of both old and young alike in Kerala. And this recipe is Pazhankanji(Rice stored fresh overnight has rich starch water) served with coconut chutney, fish, lentils, and curd with spicy green chilly. Highly recommended as it is absolutely a different experience.
