
Whenever we hear the name ‘Cake’, we always get a feeling to eat it at that very moment. Yes, cakes are really tempting. We cut cakes on various occasions, so why not make them at home with ease? So, to help you with this, we bring 20 easy recipes for preparing cakes at home!
1.
Dry Fruit Sponge Cake
Every one of us love that sweet and simple sponge cake which is very fluffy and tasty. We can even carry these in our bags and eat whenever we feel hungry as they are very light. So, give it a home-made taste with this recipe!
Ingredients-
Maida- 2 cups
Powdered Sugar- ¾ cup
Baking powder
Baking Soda
Salt
Chopped Dry Fruits- 3 tablespoons
Water- ¾ cup
Oil- ¼ cup
Vinegar- ¾ tablespoons
Vanilla Essence
Aluminium Foil
Steps-
In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients. Do not add dry fruits. Sieve this mixture once to remove coarse particles.
Now, add dry fruits to the bowl. In another large bowl, mix all the wet ingredients and pour it slowly into the dry ingredients’ bowl.
Mix well. You can use a spatula or spoon to mix. Keep it aside.
Preheat the oven for about 10 minutes on 150 degrees. Next, spread aluminium foil on the tray. Sprinkle some dry flour over it.
Now, pour the cake batter. You may put some dry fruits over it again.
Let it bake for nearly 30 minutes in the oven. Once this is done, you may check using a toothpick or knife. If it doesn’t come out clean, then you need to bake it again for some time.
Once is gets baked properly, serve warm.

Mawa Cake
From the simple Sponge Cake, let’s move a step ahead of trying to make the delicious Mawa Cake.
Ingredients-
Mawa – 1 cup
Flour- 2 cups
Sugar- 2 cups
Eggs- 6
Maida- 3 cups
Baking powder
Milk
Steps-
In a bowl, mix butter and sugar together till it appears creamy. Beat the six eggs in this mixture and using a hand blender, mix till it becomes frothy.
Put Mawa and continue to mix. Add baking powder and the flour into this mixture and mix properly.
To get proper consistency for cake, add some milk.
Place paper cups in the cake moulds and pour the batter into the moulds. Let it bake at 200 degrees for 25 minutes.
Once baked, let them cool to room temperature and then serve.

Rava Cake
Another type cake is here which is simple but is equally tempting! So, hurry up, try this recipe!
Ingredients-
Rava- 1 cup
Sugar- ¾ cup
Yoghurt- 1 cup
Milk- ½ cup
Cardamom Powder
Baking soda
Chopped Cashew Nuts- 1 tablespoon
Saffron- 5-6 strands
Ghee
Steps-
In a bowl, mix Rava, yoghurt and milk together to form a smooth paste. Cover it with a lid and keep it aside for about 1 hour.
Apply some ghee to the baking tray. After an hour, add cardamom powder, baking soda and nuts to the batter. Sprinkle the saffron strands on the top.
Pour it into the baking tray. Bake it for 50-60 minutes at 180 degrees. Check with a knife.
Let it cook once it is baked properly. Cut into pieces and serve with tea.

Butter Cake
Now that we are done with basic and simple cakes, let’s try something that is buttery! The famous Butter Cake is here which will become ready in just minutes!
Ingredients-
Maida- 2 cups
Butter- 2 &1/2 cups
Baking Powder
Castor Sugar- 1 cup
Eggs- 4
Milk- ½ cup
Vanilla Essence
Steps-
Add flour, baking powder and salt to a bowl and whisk. Beat sugar and butter together in another bowl till they become pale yellow in colour.
Add eggs to the sugar mixture and mix continuously. You can use a blender to mix.
Now, add vanilla essence, flour to it.
Make sure that after every addition, you add some milk to it. This will give you the perfect consistency.
Apply some oil to the baking tray and spread a butter paper over it. Pour the cake batter into it.
Let it bake for 45 minutes in a preheated oven. Let it cool for about 5-10 minutes.
Cut into small squares and serve at room temperature!

Hot Milk Cake
A very moist cake, Milk Cake is a very yummy cake. You can have this cake as a dessert or during tea time with coffee or tea. Enjoy your tea time with this tasty cake!
Ingredients-
Eggs- 4
Sugar- 2 cups
Vanilla Extract
Flour- 3 cups
Milk- 1 cup
Butter- ¼ cup
Steps-
In a bowl, beat eggs using blender for 5 minutes. Once they become light yellow in colour, add sugar to it. Let it become fluffy.
Add vanilla extract, flour and baking powder to this mixture. Beat it with a blender at low speed.
In a small pan, heat some butter and milk only till the butter melts. Pour this mixture in the batter and stir well.
Pour it into a tray and bake it for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Check with a knife or toothpick.
After cooling, cut into small pieces and serve warm!

6.
Eggless Vanilla Cake
Let’s see a simple Vanilla Cake which will become ready in an hour. Advantage of this cake is that it contains no eggs!
Ingredients-
Maida- 2 cups
Baking Powder
Cream- 1 cup
Sugar Powder- 1 cup
Milk Powder- 1 cup
Milk- 1 cup
Ghee
Salt
Lemon Juice
TuttiFrutti- 1 tablespoon
Vanilla Essence
Steps-
Mix baking soda, baking powder and flour in a bowl. Take all the remaining ingredients and mix in a separate bowl.
Add the flour mixture to this bowl and mix. Mix TuttiFruit as well.
Apply some oil/ghee to a pan and pour the batter into it.
Bake it for about 25-30 minutes in a preheated oven.
Cut it into small squares and let it cool. Serve it with Tutti fruit on the top.

Almond Cake
Let’s now move on to a different cake like one with dry fruits. Almonds are going to add a different twist to your cake!
Ingredients-
Almond Powder- 1 cup
Maida- 1 cup
Milk- 1 cup
Powdered Sugar- ½ cup
Butter- ½ cup
Condensed Milk- ½ cup
Almonds- ¼ cup
Green Cardamom
Baking Powder
Baking Soda
Instant Coffee Powder- 1 teaspoon
Steps-
In a bowl, churn powdered sugar and butter till it becomes puffy. Next, mix condensed milk in it.
In another bowl, mix maida, baking soda, baking powder, almond powder and cardamom.
Make a thin paste of instant coffee powder in 1-2 teaspoon of milk and add it to the sugar mixture.
Now put all the wet ingredients into the sugar mixture and stir well. While mixing, add little milk as well.
Once it becomes of proper consistency, pour it into a greased tray and bake it for about 20 minutes.
Check with a toothpick. If the batter sticks on the toothpick, then bake it for another 20 minutes till it becomes light brown on the top.
In 40-50 minutes, it will be ready! Serve with some grated almonds on the top.

Christmas Cake
One of the festival when cakes are the major attractions is Christmas. Christmas Cakes are as famous as Santa Claus is. So, prepare a yummy cake this Christmas by following the instructions given below!
Ingredients-
Maida- 2 cups
Dry Plum- 1 cup
Dry Raisins- 1 cup
Walnut- ½ cup
Butter
Condensed Milk- 2 cups
Jaggery
Plain Khand- ½ cup
TuttiFrutti- ¼ cup
Glazed Cherry- 8-10
Almonds- 15-20
Orange Zest- 1 teaspoon
Lemon Zest- 1 teaspoon
Green Cardamom- 6-7
Cinnamon Stick
Cloves
Nutmeg
Black Pepper
Baking powder- 2 teaspoons
Vanilla Essence
Milk- ½ cup
Steps-
At first, remove the seeds from plums and then cut them into small pieces. Chop the walnuts as well.
Next, peel the green cardamom. Grind the spices with cardamom so as to make a powder.
In a bowl, mix butter, gurkhand and plain khand. Let it become fluffy.
To this bowl, add maida and condensed milk and stir. Add lemon and orange zest as well.
Now, once it is mixed well, add walnuts, plums, tuttifrutti and the grounded spices to make a thick batter. If it becomes too thick, add little milk.
Now, pour it into a greased container and top it with some almonds. Bake it for about 35 minutes for 180 degrees.
Once it becomes light brown in colour, bake it for 10 minutes again.
Now the cake is ready. Slice it into pieces and top it with cherry. Serve cool to enjoy its taste to the best.

Walnut Date Cake
One of my favourite cake, Walnut Date Cake is a very tasty cake and is very moist from within. It is nutritious as it contains dates which is good for increasing haemoglobin in our blood. This is must try cake at your home!
Ingredients-
Maida- 1 cup
Dates- 1 cup
Water- 1 cup
Walnuts- 1 cup
Sugar- 1 cup
Oil- 1 cup
Baking Powder
Baking Soda
Steps-
If the dates are not seedless, remove the seeds. Boil them in a cup of water.
Next, mix all the remaining ingredients in a bowl. Add the dates mixture to this bowl.
Mix well so that a thick batter is formed.
Bake this batter on a baking tray at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Once it is baked properly, make small slices of this cake. Serve with some sliced walnuts on the top.

Chocolate Cake
Now that we have done with some of the basic cakes, let’s move on to the most awaited cake recipe in this article. This recipe is surely going to be about Chocolate Cake which is a favourite amongst every age group. From children to oldies, everyone is fond of this lovely chocolate cake.
Ingredients-
Soft Butter- ¾ cup
Eggs- 3
Flour- 2 cups
Cocoa- ¾ cup
Baking Soda
Baking Powder
Salt
Sugar- 2 cups
Vanilla
Milk – 2 cups
Steps-
While slowly adding sugar, beat butter for about 1 minute. Next, beat one egg at a time in this mixture. Add vanilla.
Add all the remaining dry ingredients to this bowl and mix well.
Pour milk and mix till you get a thick batter.
Apply some oil to the baking tray and pour this batter into the pan.
Bake this for about 30-35 minutes so that the knife/toothpick comes clean when you insert it.
Once baked, cut into small pieces and top it with chocolate syrup.

Coffee Cake
There is one thing clear, that if we don’t love chocolates, then we love coffee for sure. Any of them is always a favourite. So, for all those who are not fond of chocolate, you can go for the equally tasty Coffee Cake!
Ingredients-
Castor Sugar- 1 cup
Butter- ½ cup
Eggs- 2
Instant Coffee- 2 tablespoons
Flour- 1 cup
Water- 2 cups
Coffee- 1 tablespoon
Sugar- ¼ cup
Honey- 3 tablespoons
Evaporated Milk- ¼ cup
Steps-
With a blender, beat butter so that it becomes light. Next, add sugar to it and beat for a minute again.
Beat eggs into this mixture. Put the instant coffee mixed in little water, flour and beat till you get a light batter.
In a baking tray with little oil, pour the cake batter. Bake it for about 30-35 minutes.
Till the cake gets baked, add little castor sugar, 1 tablespoon of coffee, honey, 50 ml of water and evaporated milk to a pan. Heat it so that the sugar melts.
After the cake is baked properly, cut it into small pieces. Top it with the coffee sauce prepared and serve warm.

Maida- 1 tablespoon
Powdered Sugar- 2 tablespoons
Cocoa Powder- 2 tablespoons
Milk- 4 tablespoons

Steps-
Mix flour, sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl. Next, add baking powder, baking soda and salt to it.
Melt a little butter and add to this bowl. To make a smooth batter, add milk and mix.
Pour the batter into the cake moulds to half level only. Place the chocolates at the centre of each mould and pour the batter again.
Bake this for about 30-35 minutes. Once they are baked properly, remove them from the mould and serve hot.
You can serve with an ice-cream on the top!

Buttermilk- 2 cups
Steps-
Combine baking soda, baking powder, flour, cake flour and salt together in the bowl.
In an electric mixer, beat sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla and butter. Beat till it becomes light and fluffy.
Next, add egg yolks to it. After eggs, you should add the dry ingredients with buttermilk.
Next, take cake pans and apply some oil to them. Place a parchment/butter paper at the bottom of the pans.
Pour the batter on the parchment paper and bake for 30-35 minutes. Once the cake is baked, cut them into pieces and serve warm!

Paneer Cake
While we try to make a new recipe or add a different flavour, Paneer is surely going to be one of the ingredients. So, here is a special and all new Paneer Cake!
Ingredients-
Paneer- 2 cups
Flour- 1 cup
Baking Soda
Baking Powder
Butter
Fresh Cream- ½ cup
Powdered Sugar- 1 cup
Milk- 1 cup
Cashew Nuts- ¼ cup
Raisins- ¼ cup
Steps-
Grate Paneer and keep it on a plate. Next, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder in a bowl.
Beat cream, sugar and butter using a blender. Add grated paneer to it. Put the dry ingredients in the bowl and mix well. At last, add cashew nuts to the batter and mix well.
Now, apply oil and sprinkle some dry flour on the bottom of the tray. Pour cake batter into the tray and bake it for 25 minutes at 180 degrees. For next 30 minutes, bake it at 160 degrees.
Paneer cake is ready to eat! Cut it into triangular pieces and serve warm!

Crunchy Pineapple Cake
We have seen cakes with Paneer, chocolates, coffee and many more. Now, let’s turn to something healthier! Yes, I am talking about the fruits. They are the natural sources of various nutrients. Fruit cakes are quite popular nowadays and so here is recipe dealing with pineapples!
Ingredients-
Chopped Pineapple- ½ cup
Sweet biscuits- 1 packet
Orange Juice- ½ cup
Whipped Cream- 2 cups
Crushed Nuts Chikki- ¼ cup
Half cut pineapples- 3
Steps-
Dip the biscuits in the orange juice and place them on a plate in the shape of rectangle.
Spread the whipped cream over the biscuits evenly. Put the chopped pineapple over the cream layer.
Take next 10 biscuits, dip them and place them in the same manner over the pineapple pieces. Spread the remaining cream over the biscuits.
At the edges of the cake, place the pineapple pieces so as to decorate it. Sprinkle the crushed chikki on the top and let it refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
Once it is set properly, cut it carefully into slices and serve chilled!

The above recipe has only one fruit and was a very different kind of recipe. Now, let’s see a new type of cake which is a perfect combination of nutrients and taste!
Ingredients-
Chocolate Cake- 1 (as made in the recipe given in this article)
Sugar Syrup- ½ cup
Vanilla Essence
Whipped Cream- 2 cups
Seasonal fruits like strawberry, apple, mango, peach, cherry, melon- 2 cups
Melted Chocolate- ½ cup
Steps-
To make syrup, mix vanilla essence and sugar syrup. Cut the Chocolate Cake into 3 equal pieces and dip its bottom in the syrup we made.
Next, spread whipped cream on this soaked surface. Put all the sliced fruits on the top and put the other piece over this layer.
The top layer has to be again soaked in the syrup. Spread the remaining cream over this surface.
Let this cake be refrigerated for about 20-30 minutes.
Drizzle the melted chocolate on the top of this cake and serve!

Ingredients-
Flour- 2 cups
Ground cinnamon- 2 teaspoons
Baking Soda
Salt
Castor Sugar- 2 cups
Vanilla Extract
Water- ¼ cup
Oil
Eggs- 3
Peeled and chopped apples- 3
Chopped nuts- ¼ cup
Steps-
Whisk flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a bowl. Next, mix sugar, vanilla extract, water and oil in the same bowl.
Beat eggs into this mixture and mix well. Put the chopped apples and nuts as well.
Pour this into a greased baking tray or pan and let it bake for about 50 minutes.
Once it gets baked properly, let it cool and then cut it into pieces. Garnish with nuts.

Orange Honey Cake
This is another fruit cake, but it has honey in it as well. Filled with the goodness of oranges and sweetness of honey, this cake is very easy to make and gets finished within minutes because it is very tasty!
Ingredients-
Flour- 1 cup
Baking Powder
Baking Soda
Condensed Milk- 1 cup
Oil- ½ cup
Vanilla Essence- 1 teaspoon
Orange Juice- ½ cup
Lemon Juice- 1 teaspoon
Sugar- ¼ cup
Orange Zest- 1 teaspoon
Water- ½ cup
Honey- ¼ cup
Mixed Fruit Jam- ¼ cup
Steps-
Mix flour, baking soda and powder in a bowl.
Take another bowl and add all the wet ingredients along with condensed milk. Stir to mix it properly.
Add the flour mixture to this bowl and stir again. Make sure there are no lumps formed.
Let the batter bake for 30-35 minutes in the oven.
While it is baking, make sugar syrup. Boil water and sugar in a pan till it becomes sticky.
Once it starts cooling, add honey to it and stir. Also, in a pan melt the mixed fruit jam by adding sugar.
Once the cake is baked, make random holes in it. Pour the honey syrup in it. Cover the entire cake surface with the mixed fruit jam syrup and top it with grated coconut or dry fruits!
The Orange Honey Cake is ready to be served!

Cheese Cake
Nowadays, the word Cheese Cake is heard very often. This is a new type of cake that has come up which is becoming very popular. Do you want to try it at your home? Then, here is a simple recipe for it!
Ingredients-
Graham Cracker Crumbs- 2 cups
Sugar- 2 cup
Melted Butter- 1/3 cup
Cream Cheese- 3
Eggs- 4
Lemon Juice- 1 tablespoon
Vanilla Extract
Steps-
Mix first three ingredients in a bowl and press it against the bottom and sides of the baking tray.
Next, using a blend, beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla and lemon juice together in a bowl.
Pour this batter into the baking tray. Let it bake for 35 minutes.
Do not remove it from the oven for an hour, but switch off the oven.
Before serving, freeze it for many hours. While serving, you can top it with syrups.
